Program
Logic Models (PLMs) are an invaluable tool in program design.
They link needed resources with measurable results and provide
a roadmap for program implementation. Also, PLMs are
invaluable for use in grant applications, because they show
prospective funders what they can expect to get for their
money. Finally, PLMs provide a basis for report design.
COTS
is indebted to the United Way of Sonoma-Lake-Mendocino for
providing training on the use of PLMs. Many organizations
delegate development of PLMs to consultants. COTS
had training in this for most of our full-time staff.
This gave us a common vocabulary to use in discussions of
program development and evaluation, helped us to broadly disperse
responsibility for developing PLMs, and was a developmental
opportunity for the staff.
