Mission Statement

COTS offers help and hope to homeless persons in Sonoma County by providing safe shelter and housing, helping people develop steady incomes and helping them get back under a roof of their own.

We help homeless families become stable and break the cycle of homelessness by teaching homeless parents to make their children's needs a high priority and to provide a safe, loving and secure home for their children.

Principles & Values Four Pillars of Success, C-H-I-I. Connection, Hope, Intention and Integrity.

Volunteers COTS is strongly support by the cities and communities of Petaluma and Rohnert Park, and the County of Sonoma. COTS works cooperatively with numerous social service providers in our region. In the last year, community volunteers provided over 50,000 hours of their time.

Accomplishments Opened the Mary Isaak Center – the first year-round emergency shelter and transitional housing facility for homeless adults in southern Sonoma County – doubling the total number of bed-nights for singles we provide each year (from 50,000 per year to 100,000.)

History Founded sometime around March of 1988, COTS was a response to Isaak’s and Reichek’s concern for the adults and their children who were sleeping outdoors in culverts, dumpsters or in other unsafe and unsuitable conditions
