about 8,000 people are homeless and thousands are hungry.  WHY?

  • Skyrocketing housing costs

Emergency Shelter
  • Year-round emergency shelter for families with children
  • Up to 35 people at any time
  • Shelter, food and intensive assessment/case management services for up to 60 days
  • 11,000 bednights per year

Multi-service, daytime shelter
Serving approximately 450 clients per year
  • Showers, laundry facilities, message center, telephone, mail and locker services
  • Staff assist with:
    • employment referrals
    • housing referrals
    • counseling
    • chemical dependency
    • referrals for health care

  • Mutually supportive, service-enriched environment

 Rebuilding Shattered Lives
  • LIFE SKILLS TRAINING
  • COTS holds results-oriented workshops in parenting skills, money management and other life skills.
  • COTS also leads a team of health professionals from other agencies to address the dual problems of chemical dependency and mental illness.
  • COTS provides assessment, treatment, referral, support, education and relapse prevention to 700 clients each year.


  • HOMELESS PREVENTION ASSISTANCE
  • First month’s rent and deposit assistance for homeless individuals or families who are securing permanent housing.
