PETALUMA KITCHEN

This is a community kitchen located at 900 Hopper Street in Petaluma, that provides a no-cost daily meal to anyone in need, 365 days a year.
Overview:
-
The Petaluma Kitchen serves a no-cost midday meal seven days a week, 365 days a year, for low- and very-low-income men, women and children. -
The Kitchen serves more than 124,000 meals a year, relying on more than 20,000 volunteer hours from community members who come to cook, serve and clean.
-
Much of the food served at the Kitchen is donated from food drives and local merchants.
-
Most of the purchased food supplies come in bulk from the local food bank for pennies a pound.
-
In addition to providing nourishment to those in need, volunteers and staff at the Kitchen are often the first contact for families or individuals who need referrals to other community resources for housing, clothing or medical care.
-
The Petaluma Kitchen is also the base of our street outreach efforts to connect with those still struggling in homelessness and encourage them to seek shelter and support at the Mary Isaak Center.
